Current Activities
Evaluation of biocompatibility of materials as per ISO 10993 standards. Materials include metals, polymers, ceramics, composites and natural materials in subcutaneous tissue, muscle and bone of guinea pigs, rats and rabbits.
Preclinical evaluation of medical devices includes coronary stents (bare, drug eluting, degradable), Annuloplasty ring, blood centrifugal pump, Left Ventricular Assist Device, Orthodontic screws, PCL-Gel and Polyurethane based dural substitute, bone graft implants, liquid neuroembolisation agents.
Nanotoxicity evaluation, Evaluation of tissue engineering scaffolds with stem cells, 3D inks and scaffolds

Evaluation of biocompatibility of materials as per ISO 10993 standards. Materials include metals, polymers, ceramics, composites and natural materials in subcutaneous tissue, muscle and bone of guinea pigs, rats and rabbits.
Preclinical evaluation of medical devices includes coronary stents (bare, drug eluting, degradable), small and large diameter vascular grafts, mechanical (Chitra-TTK mechanical heart valve) and biological heart valves, Annuloplasty ring, haemoconcentrator, oxygenator, blood centrifugal pump, Left Ventricular Assist Device, decellularised tissue conduits as Right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) correction device in sheep and pig models. Orthodontic screws, PCL-Gel and Polyurethane based dural substitute, ureteric stents, bone graft implants, glass ionomer dental filler implants, neuroprosthetics, liquid neuroembolisation agents, decellularised scaffolds, wound care products, PCL-PLGC tissue engineered vascular grafts, osteochondral plugs, corneal cell sheets and keratoprosthesis
