Ficusracemosa is a large spreading deciduous tree grow up to 30 m high. It is also known as red river fig or gular.  It is native to Australia and tropical Asia. It consists of dense clusters of globular bright yellow, orange and green edible fig fruit. It is found in moist habitats, in monsoon forest and also in coastal dune.   

 

Medicinal properties

It is used for various disorders including diabetes, diarrhea, inflammatory conditions, hemorrhoids, respiratory and urinary disease. The fruit is an astringent, stomachic, carminative given in menorrhea and hemoptysis . It has antibacterial, antipyretic, wound healing, antifilarial properties.
