Citrus maxima , is a member of the Rutaceae family and is cultivated for its enormous, sweet fruits. Pomelo is also known as shaddock.  It has the largest citrus fruit. The pomelo tree grows upto  5–15 meters tall. The flowers is seen as single or in clusters and are fragrant  yellow-white in color.   

 

Medicinal properties

Decoctions of the leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds contain medicinal characteristics that help to treat gastric disorder, fevers, and coughs. Fruit  hasalkanizing effect on blood and act as  antimicrobial, and cleansing agent  . The leaves are utilized for therapeutic infusions. The seeds are used against coughs, dyspepsia and the rind has pectin which is used in ointments  for burns.
