Azadirachtaindica, also called neem. The mahogany family Meliaceae includes neem. Neem trees are lovely evergreens that can reach heights of 30 metres. Leaves are compound, alternate, and tends to cluster near the end of the branches. The compound leaf is pinnate with 8-19 leaflets. Neem tree is widely cultivated and naturalized in tropical Asia and Africa. They produce tiny, bisexual, white blooms.   

 

Medicinal properties

Neem's fruits, seeds, oil, leaves, root, and barks are used in the Ayurveda and Unani medical systems of India. Neem bark is cooling, pungent, bitter, and astringent. It is used to treat fatigue, cough, fever, appetite loss, worm infestation, diabetes, vomiting-related skin illness and excessive thirst. According to reports, neem leaves can treat eye disorders, pest toxins, leprosy etc. Its fruits have purgative, anti-hemorrhagic, and anthelmintic properties.
