Rambutan" is a tropical tree that is beloved for its sweet, hairy-looking, red or yellow skinned golf-ball-sized fruit. Its common name comes from the Malay word "rambut" which means hair, its fruit shell is covered in hairs. It is a tree that grows between 10 - 25m with  glossy green and compound leaves.   

 

Medicinal properties

The health advantages of rambutan may include improved digestion, weight loss, and increased infection resistance. Rambutan is also very nutritive. It contains a lot of vitamin C, an antioxidant that guards the cells in your body from deterioration. Rambutan fruit extract may aid in the fight against infection. Rambutan peel and seed constituents may provide some defence against cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and arthritis. They provide soluble and insoluble dietary fibre.
